65% of respondents expect a wage increase due to rising inflation

As a result of rising inflation, 65% of respondents expect an increase in wages or bonuses (34%), assesses Personnel Service. Every fifth Pole points to fuel subsidies, and every eighth points to free meals at work as a form of compensation from the employer as a result of high inflation. 13% of entrepreneurs will decide on a permanent salary increase and 18% on the payment of bonuses for employees.

“The pandemic and the war have changed the approach to benefits. Galloping inflation puts employees more emphasis on money and benefits that lower the cost of living. The top three include fuel subsidies, because its prices hit the home budget. Health and health are still a high priority. an extensive medical care package, but this can also be associated with savings. Employers, although they know that financial benefits are most appreciated by employees, are looking for alternatives, such as additional days off, remote work, and even a 4-day working week, which is still is in the experimental phase, and yet a few percent of companies declare its introduction in the next 6 months,” said the labor market expert, founder of Personnel Service Krzysztof Inglot.

Every third employer declares that it will introduce new benefits for employees.

In the survey, 16% of respondents indicated an extensive medical care package as the most important benefit.

The same percentage counts on a 4-day working week, and 12% on free meals. Additional days off during the year will be convinced by 10% of people, as well as benefits on the occasion of work anniversaries.

As indicated by Personnel Service, 55% of large companies declare new benefits.

“In the case of entrepreneurs employing up to 10 people, this percentage is only 10%. So we can see that only the largest entities can afford non-wage bonuses, which also strive to retain their staff in this way. This means that the needs of employees necessarily recede into the background, although in the perspective of still record-low unemployment, companies will also have to take care of staff retention,” added Inglot.

When asking companies about the details and planned benefits over the next six months, bonuses are in the first place, which 18% of companies intend to pay out. 13% of entrepreneurs will decide on a permanent salary increase. The third place is the possibility of remote work for 2-3 hours. days a week, which is indicated by 11% of companies, which means that employers still treat home office as an attractive benefit, not a standard, it was announced.

It was noted that companies that know that they have a difficult task related to retaining employees, instead of offering money, also resort to unusual solutions, such as the introduction of a 4-day work week – 7% of employers intend to do so in the coming months.

In the case of medium-sized companies, this is declared by 11% of entities, in the smallest ones employing up to 10 people only 3%, it was further announced.
