Prague has lost its arbitration suit with the construction company Metrostav, developer of Centrum Palmovka in Prague 8. The municipality wanted to have its new headquarters in the mixed-use complex, going up next to the Palmovka metro station. The ruling by the arbitration court of the Czech Economic and Agricultural Chamber means that Prague has to pay Metrostav CZK 18m to cover invoices for work the company completed on the project. E15 quotes a Metrostav spokesman as saying that the precedent opens the way for a conclusion of the argument of the total CZK 180m that the city owes Metrostav for the project. The decision is also the first step to restarting construction work on Centrum Palmovka, whose shell has stood next to the Palmovka location for two years now.
