DHL Supply Chain will operate a new 30,000 sqm warehouse for Estee Lauder in the western Czech town of Cheb, according to the daily Hospodarske noviny. Goods will be transported from the site to 35 countries, reports the paper, once it’s completed in 2018. Roughly 100 employees will be taken on for the first year of operations, according to its HR director, with twice as many to be employed there within three years. Advanced technological solutions will be employed by DHL to streamline the center’s functioning, including pick-by-voice systems and sophisticated conveyor belts. It will also be incorporated into Deutsche Post DHL’s GoGreen regime which is aimed at reducing CO2 emissions of the company worldwide. HN hints in its article that Accolade is behind the development of the warehouse.
