Construction of Chinese Cultural Center begins in New Belgrade

Empiret Belgrade, a subsidiary of the Chinese company Shandong Hi Speed Group, is driving the construction a new Chinese Cultural Center. The building will offer 32,000 sqm of space along with 241 parking places, 19 flats, an exhibition hall and office space. According to the construction permit making work possible, the scheme represents an investment of around RSD 2.8bn. Technical documentation for the building is being prepared by Energoproject, Cepting, Milnar gradnja and IV.CO. The investor paid RSD 417m for the land where the project is going up and expects to complete work within 18 months. The building is located on the same street where the Chinese embassy was destroyed during the bombing of Belgrade in 1999. The cornerstone laying ceremony was held in June 2016. and was attended by the presidents of China and Serbia.
