The shared economy is making inroads in Bratislava at last with the start of a car sharing project that takes free city bikes to the next level. The idea is in part to reduce the number of cars in the city by allowing multiple people to use the same vehicle, only when actually needed. The program up! City is being organized in cooperation with the old market in central Bratislava where 7 Volkswagen cars will be available for people to drive off with for work or personal reasons. The cost is €35 per day or €25 per half day. Reserving the vehicles will be handled through an online application.
