Natural decrease in Hungary grows in first four months of 2017

Between January and April, the natural decrease of Hungary’s population grew by 5,996 compared to the previous year, according to the Central Statistical Office (KSH). In the first four months of the year, 1.4 percent fewer children were born, while the number of deaths grew by more than 13 percent y-o-y, according to KSH. Taking into account the leap-day effect, the increase in the number of deaths was even greater, at 14 percent, according to the data published by KSH.
