The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has provided €100m in funding for Romanian building projects through its Green Energy Financing Facility (GEFF), a program that supports energy-efficient schemes across the EU. The program provides funding via loans for the purchase of energy-efficient building material. GEFF also supports renovating apartments to reduce energy consumption.
