Jackson, Mississippi-based real estate investment trust, EastGroup Properties, has completed plans for the Gateway Commerce Park, an 850,000 square foot development in Miami Gardens. Work is scheduled to get underway later this year. The 61 acre industrial park is the former location of the practice track for Calder Race Course. The five-phase investment will have spaces ranging from 20,000 sqf to 200,000 sqf. The first 200,000 sqf building will go vertical early next year and will be delivered approximately six months later. EastGroup purchased the development site for $26.5 million in November of last year. Jones Lang LaSalle’s Brian Smith, Audley Bosch, Matt Maciag and Juan Rodriguez will handle leasing of the new development.
