Unicredit is set to sell off a tourist resort project called Beethovenova alej by Iuris in Piešťany in an auction. The developer’s plans for the 30 hectare site would have seen the construction of flats, houses, sports facilities, two hotels and an aquapark. Iuris secured a change to master plan eight years ago and even held an architectural competition which received seven bids. However, completion of the project, which had originally been scheduled for 2011, eventually slipped back to 2015. Costs for its completion were estimated to be in the vicinity of €46m, but after the building permit was issued in 2013, Iuris was unable to break ground, according to the business website Trend.sk.
