CIB bought a prefab neighborhood with 739 flats in Prague’s Písnice district from the state-owned energy supplier ČEZ for CZK 1.3bn. CIB, which came in second in the tender, manages residential buildings in Prague, Liberec and Klatovy as well as office complexes. The winner of the tender, Arca Capital, withdrew after the tenants of the flats challenged the sale. CIB has already paid the full purchase price and is now waiting for the ownership change to be made in the Prague cadastre. The tenants, who rented the flats from ČEZ, protested the sale, arguing they had an option to buy the flats first, according to the law. The Písnice flats were the last in ČEZ’s portfolio. Prior to this transaction, ČEZ offloaded some 7,000 units of the total 8,000 it owned, writes idnes.cz.
