Construction begins on 75-unit Veterans housing scheme in Maryland

19 May 2017

HELP USA has kicked off construction on HELP Veterans Village at the VA medical center in Perry Point, Md. First announced in 2011, the project will feature 75 subsidized, newly renovated and newly constructed units for at-risk and formerly homeless veterans. The development will serve veterans on the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing voucher program. Financing is being provided by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and philanthropic support. Kramer + Marks Architects designed the project and Harkins Builders Inc. is acting as general contractor. “The opening of the HELP Veterans Village will allow us to further our efforts to end veteran homelessness throughout Maryland by providing permanent and affordable housing close to important VA health care services and support programs,” said Adam Robinson Jr., director of the VA Maryland Health Care System.
