A metro connection to Prague’s Václav Havel Airport is back on the table. The city asked its transport company (DPP) to prepare a sustainability study related to building a new metro line from the Nádražà VeleslavĂn station to the airport. A metro connection to the airport has been discussed for years in addition to a high-speed railway connection from the Masaryk railway station in Prague 1 to Kladno, with a line to the airport. The railway option won, and the national railway manager (SĹ˝DC) is currently working on the documentation. However, Prague Mayor Adriana Krnáčová said that it will take SĹ˝DC at least 10 years to complete the high-speed track, and Prague wants to look into the cost and time needed to complete a metro connection. Metro A was extended to Motol hospital in Prague 5 in 2015, neglecting plans to build a metro line to the airport from the Dlouhá mĂle station, where a large P+R was planned.
