Canadian commercial real estate services firm Avison Young has opened its first office in Bucharest, Romania. It will be headed by David Canta as Managing Director along with four members on staff. Canta was most recently associate director and co-founder of commercial real estate brokerage firm Momentum Consulting in Bucharest. Before that, he was a broker with CBRE in Bucharest.
The new Bucharest office represents the 10th office in Europe and 80th office globally. Over the past eight years, Avison Young has grown from 11 offices to 80 offices in 72 markets employing more than 2,400 real estate professionals. Mark Rose, Chair and CEO of Avison Young, said that Bucharest “is an under-served market, offering great potential for increased local, national and international investment.” He described the Romanian capital as a gateway to Eastern and Central Europe and aligns well with our other European operations. The new Bucharest office will also enhance our ability to facilitate multi-market transactions on both sides of the Atlantic.”
