German automotive parts manufacturer ThyssenKrupp is developing a new plant in Debrecen, the second largest city in Hungary. The cost of the project is HUF 11bn. Completion is scheduled for next year. The 18,000 sqm plant is expected to create 250 jobs and will produce springs and stabilizers for the automotive industry. ThyssenKrupp operates a steering technology competence center in Budapest, where almost 600 engineers work on software and hardware solutions for electromechanical steering systems.
