Orlando’s old AT&T building due for redevelopment

12 May 2017

A decision has been made for one of downtown Orlando’s oldest eyesores, the AT&T building. Located at 500 N. Orange Ave., the facility will be turned into a mixed use scheme with both office and retail space taking up the 118,517 sqf building. The now vacant five-story building between Amelia and Concord streets was purchased by Michigan-based West Second Street Associates in 2015 for $7 million from the defunct Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Co. Orlando-based Baker Barrios Architects Inc. is the architect on the project with Fulcrum Management Corp. selected as the project manager. CBRE Group Inc. has been named the leasing agent for the office and retail space.

ā€œThe market is starved for large Class A blocks of space and we’ve already received strong interest in the building. West Second Street will deliver the building in the first quarter of 2018, which is great timing for large tenants currently in the market,ā€ said Strader, first vice president of CBRE.
