The volume of retail sales in Hungary increased by 3.6 percent y-o-y in March according to the Central Statistical Office (KSH). The increase was mainly caused by strong Easter sales, according to KSH experts. The volume of sales, adjusted for calendar effects, rose by 3.8 percent in specialized and non-specialized food shops, by 8.2 percent in non-food retail shops, while fuel sales rose 2.3 percent. The volume of sales was 3.4 percent higher over the first three months of 2017 compared to the first three of 2016, writes the KSH.
