Durst expands into Queens with $1.5bn resi scheme

The Durst Organization has submitte permits with the city of New York for two more mixed used buildings at its Halletts Point development along the Queens waterfront. The building on 26-02 1st Street will span 269,346 sqf and feature 294 units. The 26-story building will also have 2,443 sqf of commercial space along with 163 enclosed parking spaces. The second project, 26-40 1st Street, will encompass 358 units and 6,959 square feet of commercial space. In total, Durst is planning 2,400 apartments across seven buildings at the $1.5 billion development, its first major project outside Manhattan.
