Penta Investments’ net profit jumped 25 percent y-o-y in 2016 to CZK 6.78bn. Revenues rose by 4 percent to CZK 151.2bn. The sales of Gimborn and the Florentinum office complex in Prague 1, Penta’s development in the capital, contributed to the positive results. The value of the portfolio increased by 21 percent to CZK 229.5bn, thanks to the acquisition of Sberbank Slovensko as well as a number of hospitals in Vratislav (Poland), Topolčany (Slovakia) and Vrchlabí in the Czech Republic. Penta also closed a few major acquisitions, including the former brewery area in Prague-Nusle, as well a the Vítězné náměstí company, investor of the Line office project in Prague 6.
The group invested €500m (CZK 13.5bn) into company infrastructure, including digitalization, according to Penta partner Jaroslav Haščák. In addition to the Zaha Hadid project around the Masaryk railway station and the Florenc metro station in central Prague, the group also has development plans near Prague’s main train station. In 2016, Penta completed 40,000 sqm of office and residential space, up 43 percent y-o-y and invested CZK 3.88bn into property acquisitions. Real estate accounts for approximately 20 percent of the company’s activities.
