Polish retail stock hits 13.4 million sqm in Q1

Total retail stock in Poland reached 13.4 million sqm in the first three months of 2017, according to JLL. Shopping centers accounted for 9.5 million sqm, while retail parks, warehouses and outlet centers made up 9.5 million sqm. The projects completed in the first quarter included extensions of Auchan Hetmańska in Białystok and Galeria Wnętrz City Meble in Gdańsk as well as the delivery of Leroy Merlin in Bełchatów and Agata Meble in Rzeszów. Approximately 591,000 sqm of shopping center space was under construction at the end of March. Currently, more than 650,000 sqm of retail space in different formats remains under development, according to Joanna Tomczyk, a research analyst at JLL.
