The Czech Republic boasts the lowest unemployment rate in the EU at 3.4 percent, according to the Eurostat figures for January. The Manpower recruitment agency admits the Czech jobless rate could shrink even further in Q2. Eight percent of the employers surveyed by Manpower see themselves hiring, while 2 percent expect to reduce their staff and 86 percent expect no change. “The second quarter of 2017 looks very optimistic. Employers have very optimistic hiring plans, and these plans have increased in comparison with the last quarter and last year. Unemployment is at the lowest level in Europe and will go under 5.0 percent. We expect another increase of employed people in manufacturing, logistics, construction, and finance and insurance,ʺ says Jiří Halbrštát, Manpower’s local marketing and communications manager.
