HB Reavis wants to connect its Stanica Nivy complex, which will include a new central bus station and a large shopping center, with Bratislava’s Petržalka district by a funicular or elevated railway. The developer also wants to build a large parkhouse in Petržalka, which will be connected to the elevated railway and integrated into the city’s public transport system. Adrián Rác, CEO of HB Reavis Slovakia, believes this will help reduce the number of cars in the city center and on the Apollo bridge. He claims that city representatives favor the project, which would cost €80m. Jozef Uher, chairman of the Bratislava transport system committee, says that the railway must be fast and have a large capacity to be able to ease the city’s public transport load.
