AFI Europe secured a permit to build the first office building at its AFI City project, underway at the former ČKD Foundry site in Prague’s Vysočany district. The developer plans to add office and retail to its residential Tulipa City scheme, which it has been building on the 15 ha site. Office Building A will be located just across the street from the Kolbenova metro station. CMC Architects designed the building with 17,000 sqm of office space across 19 floors. AFI director Doron Klein says he does not want to build speculatively and is waiting for a pre-lease. The four apartment buildings in the first phase of Tulipa City will offer 257 flats. The units, scheduled for completion in April 2018, are 90 percent sold. The second phase of Tulipa City is waiting for a construction permit. Work should get underway in Q4 2017.
