Accor, the majority shareholder of Orbis, has exercised its buyout option over the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge hotel in the Hungarian capital. The buyout date is May 31. The option will be overseen by Orbis subsidiary Accor-Pannonia Hotels Zrt., which currently operates the hotel under a lease agreement. The cost of the deal is €44m, according to market sources. HVB Leasing Maestoso Ingatlanhasznosíto Kft. and Universale International Realitäten GmbH are the vendors. Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge is a five-star hotel offering 357 rooms, two restaurants, bars, 17 meeting rooms, a ballroom as well as spa.
