Mercedes distribution center could go up in Czech Republic

6 February 2017

Daimler is looking for a location to build a giant distribution center in the CEE region that would store Mercedes-Benz car parts. Locations in the Czech Republic and Poland are being considered. With 250,000 sqm of usable space, the center would be even larger in size than the Amazon distribution center in Dobrovíz, just outside of Prague, and would supply the Daimler manufacturing plant in Kecskemét, Hungary, as well as an additional two plants planned for Poland and Russia. Costs are expected to run to CZK 3bn. The Czech Republic has only one suitable location for a project of this size, according to Hospodářské noviny. The site, owned by CTP, is 20 km north of Prague in Úžice along the D8 motorway.
