Merlin Properties bought Torre Agbar in Barcelona from General Aguas de Barcelona for €142m. The property, located on Avenida Diagonal, is the third tallest building in the city and offers 37,614 sqm of leasable space on 34 floors as well as an auditorium for 350 people. Torre Agbar was the headquarters of Aguas de Barcelona until July 2015. Merlin is the largest SOCIMI in Spain, with a portfolio now worth €9.6bn, following its acquisition of Testa from Sacyr and the integration of Metrovacesa’s portfolio of commercial properties.
