From the beginning of the 2025 financial year, companies in Germany will be required by the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) to comprehensively disclose their environmental and social impacts. To provide its customers with the best possible support, Atradius has entered into an exclusive partnership with ESG.DNA, the provider of the Starboard ESG tools. ‘We are pleased to be able to offer our customers an efficient solution with exclusive conditions to meet the complex regulatory requirements and continuously improve their ESG performance,’ says Frank Liebold, Country Director of Atradius Germany.
Around 15,000 companies in Germany are faced with the challenge of preparing their sustainability reports as an integral part of their annual financial statements and having them certified by an auditor. This poses major challenges for a particularly large number of medium-sized companies. ‘Our goal is to provide our customers with optimal support in preparing their sustainability reports so that they can meet the new requirements and at the same time strengthen their market position,’ says Frank Liebold. The solution can also be of great advantage to all companies that are not subject to reporting requirements with regard to the information they provide to their commercial customers and financing banks. With Starboard ESG, Atradius offers a solution that is not available in the credit insurance market in this form. ‘Our customers can use the Starboard ESG tool for six months free of charge and then benefit from exclusive conditions.’
Starboard ESG is an innovative software-as-a-service solution that enables the digital collection, processing, analysis and evaluation of ESG data and facilitates the fulfilment of CSRD/ESRS reporting requirements. On the one hand, the solution offers all the necessary information, links to relevant regulations, background information and guidelines.
This is particularly helpful because medium-sized companies in particular usually do not have their own sustainability departments and they have to cope with these new tasks alongside their daily work. On the other hand, the tool offers instructions and predefined questions and answers to carry out a so-called materiality analysis, an ESG positioning and evaluation of the company. The tool can also be used to create reports that are compliant with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)/European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the EU taxonomy.
Jörg Uwer, Managing Partner at ESG.DNA GmbH: ‘Our tools have been developed by experienced experts to support companies in creating CSRD-compliant sustainability reports. Many companies do not yet have sufficient knowledge of this complex topic or do not have the capacity to meet the new requirements’. Jörg Uwer points out that compliance with the CSRD reporting requirements can quickly result in an additional workload of several hundred person-days for a medium-sized company. ‘Our software enables companies to significantly reduce this workload,’ says Jörg Uwer. Jörg Uwer is pleased about the partnership with Atradius. ‘We consider ourselves very fortunate to have gained such a renowned and competent partner in Atradius.’
