Annual personal gross income in Hungary averaged HUF 1.44m in 2015, up 4.8 percent y-o-y. Annual net income rose on average by 4.6 percent to HUF 1.15m, while real income increased 4.7 percent, thanks to a 0.1-percent decrease in consumer prices. Gross income per capita from wages rose 6.1 percent from 2014, while social transfers per capita rose 2.2 percent, according to the latest state data. However, despite a closing income gap, the difference between the lowest and highest income decile is still wide. Average net income in the bottom decile was HUF 334,000 annually, 29 percent of the national average, while in the top decile was HUF 2.74m, 240 percent of the national average, the data shows.
