Strabag, PORR and Hochtief signed a contract to build a section of the D3 motorway between Čadca and Bukov-Svrčinovec. The consortium won the tender with a bid of €239m. The tender for the 6 km stretch was launched in May. Juraj Valent, general director of Slovakia’s national motorway company (NDS), signed the contract with the consortium. The section includes two interchanges, 24 bridges and 11 km of anti-noise screens. Construction is expected to take four years. NDS will tap €87.5m from EU funds to finance the project.
