Grandi Stazioni sues Czech railway manager

9 November 2016

Grandi Stazioni is suing the Czech national railway manager, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC), for CZK 776.5m in damages. SŽDC terminated the Italian company’s 30-year lease of the commercial space at Prague’s main train station in October, arguing that Grandi Stazioni failed to complete the reconstruction of the station on time. Grandi Stazioni had 13 years to complete the work since signing contract with SŽDC. The company said it invested CZK 1.2bn into the reconstruction.
