It’s been revealed that Herzog & de Meuron, an architecture firm based in Basel, was the winner of the competition to realize the Museum of the 20th Century in Berlin. The winning proposal was chosen from 40 international submissions. „This design considers museum architecture with a completely new approach and will make history,” commented Hermann Parzinger, President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. The Museum of the 20th Century will be built at the Berlin Kulturforum, located next to the Berliner Philharmonie and the Neue Nationalgalerie. The project will be carried out in collaboration with Vogt Landschaftsarchitekten.
