Zagreb Zoo reopens after €5m renovation

17 October 2016

The Zagreb Zoo reopened following an extensive two-year renovation. The first phase of the renovation included the construction of 10 new facilities as well as the modernization of existing enclosures and buildings. Costs topped €5m, with 95 percent coming from the EU and 5 percent from the city budget.

β€œThe habitats for wolves, lynxes and bears will be renovated next year and as of Jan. 1, 2018, visitors will be able to see giraffes which have been missing from the Zagreb Zoo for years due to a lack of space,” said Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic.
