Goodman Group has announced the development of a new logistics center for Metro Group with a total building area of 235,000 sqm and a 10-year lease. Goodman is investing around €200m in this project. After completion in March 2018, the logistics center, located in Marl, will be the largest retail logistics site in Germany. Metro Group’s new logistics center, with two independent buildings, will service Real‘s self-service stores and the German wholesale markets of Metro Cash & Carry. The two buildings will be of considerable size, at 83,000 sqm and 152,000 sqm. Overall, the site will have around 225,000 sqm of warehouse space, along with 10,000 sqm of office space and social areas. Brokers from JLL and BNP Paribas advised on the deal.
