The first phase of Bucharest’s metro line 5 will be completed in the second quarter of 2017. The second phase is currently being evaluated. The first phase of the metro line runs between Eroilor and Drumul Taberei.
The second phase will run between Eroilor and Iancului. Completion is set for 2021, according to Ionel Oprea, technical director of the city’s metro operator Metrorex.
Metro line 6, connecting the city’s train station with the airport, is expected to be completed in 2021 as well.
