Industrial producer price index falls 0.3% in Bulgaria

The producer price index for the Bulgarian industrial sector fell by 0.3 percent m-o-m in August, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute. Prices decreased in mining and quarrying (-2.4 percent) and manufacturing (-0.4 percent). Prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, meanwhile, increased by 0.1 percent.

In manufacturing, more significant price decreases were seen in the manufacture of wood and wood and cork-based products, excluding furniture (-0.6 percent) and in the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (-0.5 percent). Price increases were reported in the manufacture of leather and related products by 1.3 percent and in the manufacture of food products by 0.4 percent.
