Asko is planning to build a new distribution center and open its seventh store on the Slovak market in Radvaň Park, outside Banska Bystrica. The new logistics warehouse is set to go up in an industrial zone on the outskirts of Trenčín. Asko Invest Slowakei is overseeing distribution center project. The German furniture retailer is planning to build the two-level 9,000 sqm warehouse on a 2 ha site, which it bought from the city for €579,600. The warehouse will be cut into four units. Asko will use 4,200 sqm and will rent out the rest of the space. The project is currently in the EIA phase, and Asko hopes it will be able to start construction in March 2017, with completion scheduled in December. Costs are estimated at €2.7m.
