Nupharo Park in North Bohemia goes bust

18 August 2016

Nupharo Park, a technology park project in Northern Bohemia heavily subsidized by the state, has filed for bankruptcy. The project only managed to sign four tenants. Czech state officials are now hoping to recover the CZK 300m subsidy granted to the project. The server idnes.cz. writes, however, that claims of secured creditors — Moravostav and Equa bank — will be paid first. Nupharo spokeswoman Martina Chromečková told the daily that the company is in negotiations with a potential investor, who could take over the restructuring. The project was developed by Nupharo Holding, with Milan Gánik’s CPP Development as the majority shareholder. Swiss company ABB holds 24 percent in Nupharo, having invested €2.3m.
