18 August 2016

Residential property sales in Spain increased by 20 percent in the first half of the year, according to the General Council of Notaires. The price of an average home increased by 6.1 percent to €1,418 per sqm. The average price of a new build was €1,886/sqm, about 12.7 percent more than secondhand homes, according to the report. Analysts at the General Council of Notaires expect that the country’s real estate market is bouncing back, however new home sales are not helping the recovery. Sales of secondhand homes increased by 19.29 percent y-o-y, accounting for 68.1 percent of all the homes sold in H1, while new home sales fell 13.6 percent.
