Empiric Student Property has acquired two properties in London and another in Exeter for GBP 21.5m from CBRE Global Investors. Its two new London assets include the Grosvenor Hall in Twickenham in southwest London, which cost the company GBP 6.2m and the Francis Gardener Hall in West Hampstead in the north western region of London, which set the company back by GBP 10.6m. Empiric also acquired Isca Lofts in Exeter for GBP 4.7m. Chief Executive Paul Hadaway has explained that the group owns one other building in London called Halsmere Studios in Camberwell adding that this latest purchase adds 142 new beds to its London portfolio. The company’s presence in Exeter now extends to 414 beds across five properties.
