Towns on the outskirts of Prague, such as Jesenice and Horoměřice in Prague-West and Zdiby in Prague-East, could be connected to the capital by trams. For now, destinations outside Prague are mainly serviced by buses, but the bus routes are at their capacity. The Central Bohemian governor is talking with the transport ministry about funding for the tram line, estimated at CZK 2bn, connecting Jesenice with Prague’s Písnice district. The tram line to Jesenice could be completed in six years and would connect to the end station of the planned D metro line. It would service Vestec, which has a large biotech center, as well as the laser center in Dolní Břežany.
