GlaxoSmithKline has invested GBP 275 million into three of its UK factories even after the Brexit vote. The pharmaceutical company has said that the country still remains an “attractive location” and will continue to invest despite the warnings and uncertainties. Chief Executive Andrew Witty has explained, “It is testament to our skilled UK workforce and the country’s leading position in life and sciences that we are making these investments.” It will be sending money into its factories in Barnard Castle in Durham, Ware in Hertfordshire, and Montrose in Scotland and is predicting an increase to its current workforce. GSK currently employs 6,000 people and has nine factories across the UK.
