15 July 2016

On Wednesday Conservative MP Theresa May,59, became the UK’s 76th PM following the resignation of David Cameron as a result of losing the Brexit vote. She has the responsibility of negotiating the new terms for the split away from the European Union. She officially assumed office after being presented to the Queen. May is Britain’s second female PM after Margaret Thatcher, who served from 1979 – 1990.

May vowed to “make Britain a country that works not for a privileged few, but for every one of us” after acknowledging the struggles the majority of British people face.
