Hungaryʼs debt hits 77.2% of GDP in March

Hungaryʼs state debt stood at 77.2 percent of GDP at the end of March. In nominal terms, the state debt reached HUF 26.148bn, lifted by net borrowing. The net financing requirement of the general government came to HUF 425bn or 1.3 percent of GDP in the four quarters to the end of March. In Q1 alone, the general government deficit, calculated from the financing side, was HUF 18bn or 0.2 percent of the quarterly GDP.
