Hyatt International is planning to open a five-star hotel in central Sofia, according to the Bulgarian Tourism Ministry. The news follows a meeting between the Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova and Takuya Aoyama, vice president of acquisitions and development at Hyatt International EAME, and Lachezar Todorov, CEO of Terra Tour Service, the project’s Bulgarian partner.
The 180-room Hyatt Regency Hotel will be built on the site of the former Serdika hotel and cinema complex. Completion is set for 2018.
