Czech state loses CZK 250m worth of development land

8 June 2016

The Czech state lost 11 ha of development land worth CZK 250m in Letňany-Prague 8 which was recently given over in a restitution case. Helena Šedivá and Václav Bendl were awarded the land after a lawyer representing the national land office reportedly “forgot” to submit an explanation to the court as to why the land should be kept by the state, according to the business daily Hospodářské noviny. The state is appealing the decision. The fields outside of Letňany have become increasingly attractive to residential developers who have already completed projects on neighboring land parcels.
