The Slovak National motorway authority opened envelopes in a tender to build three sections of the D3 a D1 motorways. The consortium of Eurovia SK and Metrostav submitted the lowest bid in the tender to build the Prešov by-pass on the D1 motorway, offering to complete the 8 km section of the road for €356m. The work will include a 2.2km long tunnel and 18 bridges. Skanska offered the lowest price – €197m – for D1 section between Budimir and Bidovce near Košice, while Strabag, Porr and Hochtief won the Čadca, Bukov – Svrčinovec section of the D3 with an offer of €239m.
