The Pena Park Hotel, a 4-star hotel has opened in the Pena Adventure Park in Ribeira de Pena (Vila Real). The 5-storey building features a heated indoor pool with hydrotherapy, a spa with a sauna and a Turkish bath serving 96 rooms, along with a restaurant and a business center. The investment in the new hotel amounted to € 8m, €3.4m of which was provided by European Community funds. The Municipality of Vila Real provided the land for the hotel, which has created 40 jobs. The Pena Adventure Park offers trampolines, slides and other activities including paintball, climbing, an alpine slide along with canoeing and rafting facilities.
