Penta unveiled plans for an enormous redevelopment project called Central Business District for land around Masaryk train station on the border of Prague 1 and 8. Designed by the studio of the recently deceased architect Zaha Hadid, the project includes eight office buildings with 90,000 sqm of office space across 15,000 sqm of land Penta bought from Czech Railways.
Marek Dospiva, co-owner of Penta investment group, says that the development will create the CBD that Prague has lacked, something he claims requires more than 100,000 sqm of modern office space in a single location. The first buildings in the new complex will be built across Na Florenci street from Florentinum, a 49,000 sqm office complex Penta completed two years ago. They’re scheduled to complete in late 2019. In all, Penta expects to invest CZK 6,5bn into the complex, which it hopes to finish by 2023.
