Signs of peace between Lordship, the developer of Palác Stromovka, and the leadership of Prague 7, where the mixed-use project on Veletržní street is to be built, have disappeared. Instead, the two sides appeared to draw knives again when Prague 7 demanded Lordship pay CZK 50m in rent for the land in advance. Lordship’s payment for the land it’s been renting for the past decade is usually supposed to be paid by the end of June. But last month, Lordship warned that it could take court action against Prague 7 if no agreement over permitting issues were reach by July. “We perceive this as a completely senseless step,” says Lordship’s managing director Václav Matoušek, reacting to the demand for early payment. “Prague 7 must be aware, that this can never happen. I suspect there are other reasons behind the announcement.“
