Cote Village affordable housing scheme approved in Mattapan

The Cote Village, a 78 unit affordable housing project in Mattapan has been approved by the city. Located on the site of a former Ford car dealership along Cummins Highway, the apartments will be a mix of one, two, and three bedrooms. The five story building will feature 68 affordable units, 56 of which will be restricted to households at or below 60 percent of area median income (AMI), with another 12 units restricted to households at or below 80 percent AMI. The remaining eight units will be market rate townhouses.

The project is being developed by a partnership of the Caribbean Integration Community Development and the Planning Office for Urban Affairs. Financing for the $31.2 million scheme will come from a combination of tax credits and loans, as well as a $750,000 award from the Neighborhood Housing Trust and $4.8 million from the Inclusionary Development Policy fund. Designed by Davis Square Architects, Cote Village includes a large public plaza, in addition to a community room and commercial space.
