Resi building permits up 60% in Estonia

More than 1,340 units, totaling 123,900 sqm, in new structures on the Estonian market were issued building permits in the first quarter of 2016, up 60.2 percent y-o-y, according to data released by Statistics Estonia. However, the number dropped by 11 percent from Q4 2015. In the first three months of 2016, 990 new residential units, averaging 103.5 sqm, were cleared for use. During the same period, 572 nonresidential projects, totaling 282,800 sqm, were granted building permits, while 304 (117,800 sqm) were cleared for use.
